NNA – Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Andrew Barnes, accepted the invitation of MP Abdel-Rahman al-Bizri to visit the ancient city of Sidon and have a closer look at its markets, tourist facilities, cultural heritage and Ramadan activities.
The tour included several stations, most importantly the Dahr Al-Mir, Khan Al-Afranj, the Muslim Scout Center, the New Bath, the Sheikh’s Bath, the Debanah Palace Museum, where musical, cultural and religious evenings are held, and Bab Al-Saray Square, in addition to other squares.
Ambassador Barnes expressed his admiration for the active movement in the city's markets and in its main facilities, considering that "societal initiatives in the city of Sidon and social solidarity between its components are among the signs that characterize the city."
In turn, MP Bizri indicated that he seeks, in cooperation with various civil institutions, to promote and develop the diverse humanitarian activities in the city of Sidon flourishing during the blessed month of Ramadan, to render the city vibrant and vital so that these activities are not limited to this holy month, but rather to extend throughout the months of the year.
