NNA - A coordination meeting was held to protect the high mountains of Lebanon, attended by Caretaker Minister of Environment Nasser Yassin, the work team of the United Nations Development Program, representatives of the official departments concerned with urban planning, the comprehensive plan for land arrangement in Lebanon, and the work team of the Land Association - Lebanon, represented by its president, Paul Abi Rashed, and the legal advisor of the association, Josiane Yazbeck, as well as the environmental expert George Mitri, and the coordinator of the platform for the protection of environmentally sensitive areas, Sarah Bou Kamel.

A draft law has been prepared to protect the mountains in cooperation with members of LANE - the Lebanese Advocacy Network for the Environment in 2020, to be completed within the project of preserving environmentally sensitive areas in Lebanon (CESNA-LB), funded by the European Union, in cooperation with Al-Hikma University and the Lebanese Environmental Movement.
