NNA - Rafic Hariri University Hospital held a press conference on Wednesday under the auspices of the National Council for Scientific Research CNRS and the Doctors syndicates in Beirut and Tripoli, announcing the international achievement by researcher, Dr. Nabil Kabbara, with a team of Italian researchers.



Kabbara's breakthrough is a treatment for Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) which is a genetic disorder that affects nerves, muscles and other organs. The treatment was provided for a Lebanese boy named Muhammad Seif and was crowned with success as, 40 months after receiving it, the symptoms stopped and Muhammad returned to being a normal child.
