NNA - Member of Parliament, Anwar Al-Khalil, on Monday couldn't help but wonder how Lebanon's leading politicians would avoid a loud-mouthed warning by Caretaker Finance Minister, Mohammad Safadi, about the faltering situation of Lebanon's financial and economic sectors.
Safadi earlier warned that Lebanon was heading towards an abyss, in accordance to reports by the World Bank.
"The public debt in Lebanon has reached $6.5 billion and is to reach $80 billion if dues unpaid by the Lebanese state are counted in," he proclaimed.
The lawmaker warned that Lebanon had set its foot on the most crucial financial and economic thresholds, "whereas political powers are busy heating up sectarian and religious enmity."
