NNA - Army Commander, General Jean Qahwaji, met on Friday at Yarzeh office with Italian Defense Chief-of-Staff, Admiral Luigi Binelli Mantelli, in the presence of UNIFIL Commander, General Paolo Serra, with talks reportedly touching on means of bolstering bilateral relations and the task of UNIFIL Italian Contingent in south Lebanon.



General Qahwaji also met with Commander of Special Forces in the U.S. Central Command, Major General Michael Nagata, in the presence of U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, David Hale. Talks dwelt on military cooperation between the armies of both countries, especially in the field of equipping and training of special units.



Qahwaji also met with Belgian Ambassador to Lebanon, Colette Taquet, accompanied by Military Attaché Daniel Peters. Cooperation relations between the armies of both countries topped their discussions.
