NNA - Tripoli deputies considered that security leaderships have failed in meeting their duty in preserving the city's security and stability, saying "such a matter cannot be tolerated."
Tripoli deputies' words came in a statement issued in the wake of a meeting that took place on Friday at MP Mohammed Kabbara's residence to tackle the current security developments in Tripoli.
Conferees also tackled means of exiting the current situation and restoring tranquility to said city.
"We shall take up this matter with President of the Republic, Michel Sleiman, and Outgoing Prime Minister, Najib Mikati," conferees said in a statement read out by Deputy Kabbara after the meeting.
Conferees underlined "the right of Tripoli to enjoy security and stability," and called on Tripolitans to exercise self restraint to spare the city conflicts that do not serve except those who are harboring evil to Tripoli.
Conferees also hailed the efforts undertaken by President Michel Sleiman and Premier Mikati, stressing the need for a radical rather than temporal action to address the security predicament in Tripoli.
The meeting took place in the presence of Minister Ahmad Karami and MPs Samir Jisr, Badr Wannous and Ahmad Safadi representing Finance Minister, Mohammed Safadi.
