NNA - Outgoing Prime Minister Najib Mikati received on Friday the President of the International Union of Arab Bankers, Chairman of the Banks Association, Joseph Tarabay, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Banks Wissam Fattouh.
After the meeting, Tarabay said "Despite the security situation in some areas of Lebanon, we consider that the economic life must go on with the same momentum and force, and Lebanon's role in the region and particularly on the Arab level must always remain present and distinctive."
"During our meeting with Mikati, we handed him an invitation to attend the Arab Banking Conference which will be held on November 14 and 15. This conference is held annually in Lebanon, and we decided after consultations with the Arab Bankers to hold it in Lebanon again with the blessing of the official authorities," Tarabay noted.
Mikati later received former MP Talal Merehbi with talks touching on the situation in Tripoli which is a source of concern for all.
The pair stressed the need to implement the security plan and lift the cover off all militants who keep violating the instructions.
