NNA - The Head of the LebaneseOrder of Physicians, Professor Antoine Bustani, and members of the Order, honored on Friday Dr. Gabriel Gharib who has been chosen as the best cardiologist in France.
The ceremony was attended by caretaker Minister of Public Health Ali Hassan Khalil, representing the President of the Republic, the Parliament Speaker and the outgoing Premier.
Among the attendees was also Mohammad Al-Mashnouq representing the PM-designate, in addition to the caretaker Minister of Justice Shakib Qortbawi, the Change and Reform bloc Head, MP Michel Aoun, and a number of Parliament Members.
Minister Khalil delivered a word on this occasion initiating it by saying how much "honored we stand at this podium to register another certificate about the strength and the presence of the Lebanese abroad."
"The Lebanese have scored one victory after the other, and thus registered their presence for themselves and for their homeland, Lebanon," he said proudly, commending the medial role Dr. Gharib has played and which made him earn this well-deserved title of best cardiologist among 200,000 doctors in France.
"We believe that the crisis lies in the sectarian system because the bug in this system is that we employ the energies of individuals at the service of communities rather than employ this diversity for the good of this country," the Minister said regrettably, blaming the dramatic brain drain in Lebanon on the State's sectarian system.
Khalil renewed the call "to come out of this vicious circle through speeding up the formation of a unifying government, strong and capable of reflecting the true representation."
Addressing the honored Doctor, Khalil concluded his speech by saying "On behalf of the President of the Republic, I extend my warmest congratulations to you [Dr. Gharib], to your family and to your country Lebanon."
