NNA - President of the Republic, Michel Sleiman, called for the resumption of national dialogue based on previous decisions, primarily Baabda Declaration.



President Sleiman's words came on Thursday during the inaugural ceremony of an avenue labeled after his name "President Michel Sleiman" in Hazmieh, at the behest of heads of Hazmieh and Baabda municipalities.



Earlier, Sleiman partook in the opening ceremony of the new municipal palace of Hazmieh, at the behest of said municipalities.



Sleiman arrived at Rihanieh Roundabout on Thursday afternoon, whereby he was greeted by Caretaker Public Works and Transportation Minister, Ghazi Aridi, Hazmieh Municipality Head, Jean Asmar, and Baabda Municipality Head, Henry Helou.



In his delivered word, Sleiman called for facilitating the formation of a new cabinet, supporting the rise of a national unity government.



The President also voiced rejection of boycotting Parliament's sessions, considering boycotting as a non- democratic act.



On the other hand, Sleiman underlined the importance of implementing and following up the resolutions of the International Support Group, which met last September in New York, that stipulate mainly supporting Lebanon's political process, economy, institutions and Syrian displaced dossier.



Sleiman also called for following-up the march of gas exploration, qualifying the running of said process as "well managed" with the recognition of all workers in said sector. Yet, such a matter requires prudence, he said.



The President also urged protection of environment in order to maintain Lebanon the greenery, clear water and fresh air.
