NNA - Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, met Monday with the General Security Chief, Brigadier General Abbas Ibrahim, over the details of the fresh release of nine Lebanese pilgrims who were held hostages in Azaz.



The pair also discussed the current general security situation in the country.



Berri earlier met with a delegation of the Association of National Olympic Committees, headed by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, in presence of the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon, Abdulal Qenaei.



Indian Ambassador to Lebanon had also been to Ain-el-Tineh today on a farewell visit upon the end of his diplomatic mission in Beirut.



Berri later received caretaker Minister of Finance, Mohammad Safadi, with talks touching on the current financial juncture.


Separately, Berri received a phone call from the Prime Minister of the Hamas-led government in the Gaza Strip, Ismail Haniyya, who congratulated him for the release of the abducted pilgrims.
