NNA - Future bloc MP, Ammar Houry, on Friday said that Baabda's fresh statement has come to "reposition the compass" and shed light on some of the most crucial points in Baabda declaration.
Interviewed by the Voice of Lebanon radio, the MP said that this statement was also a response to Hezbollah, which downplayed Baabda declaration as "mere ink on papers."
He said that Hezbollah was most probably trying to break its commitment to Baabda declaration, looking at the fact that most of the Party's practices opposed many of its provisions.
"Baabda declaration makes no mention of the national defense strategy, but this doesn't give Hezbollah the right to intervene in the Syrian conflict, practice self-imposed security measures, and don black shirts," Houry said, assessing Baabda declaration as a remarkable point in Lebanon's history unlike the way "March 8 depicted it as a black point in Lebanon's history."
