NNA - Minister of Agriculture Nizar Hani received several members of parliament and delegations in his office, as part of a series of meetings aimed at strengthening developmental and agricultural cooperation both locally and internationally.

In this context, Minister Hani met with a delegation from the Russian-Lebanese Cooperation Office, where discussions focused on ways to develop bilateral agricultural relations between Lebanon and Russia.

During the meeting, the delegation praised the current Lebanese government for "restoring hope to the Lebanese people," emphasizing the importance of advancing agricultural relations, especially after previous efforts were not completed due to various reasons.

During the meeting, a cooperation plan was discussed aimed at launching a joint strategic project focused on agricultural guidance and infrastructure development, in addition to supporting import and export operations.

Both sides affirmed Lebanon’s competitive capacity in international markets in terms of agricultural product quality, emphasizing the need to capitalize on this advantage by strengthening exchange channels.

The meeting also addressed the needs of the Lebanese community in Russia, with both parties discussing the possibility of establishing a direct flight route between Lebanon and Russia. Given that around 50,000 Lebanese individuals live and work in Russia, this was seen as a necessary step to facilitate communication and travel.

Al-Bustani

On the domestic front, Minister Hani received MP Farid Al-Bustani. The discussion focused on the role of the Ministry of Agriculture in supporting local development, particularly in remote areas such as the Chouf district. MP Al-Bustani affirmed his commitment to full cooperation with the ministry in all matters that would enhance agricultural development in his region.

Al-Sadek

Minister Hani also met with MP Waddah Al-Sadek where they discussed several agricultural matters, including the regulation of imports for certain agricultural products and the state of the local market, in addition to issues related to administration and agricultural policies.

Al-Saad

The minister also received MP Raji Al-Saad, who presented the current state of the agricultural sector in the Aley district.
