NNA - Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, on Wednesday affirmed from Beirut Port that “security at the port was firmly under control. 

“We will not tolerate any media remarks that cast doubt on that,” Rasamny said. 

“We will operate at the port with the same determination we applied at the airport. I have requested enhanced and tightened surveillance at the Beirut port,” the Minister added. 

“We will not allow any questioning of the port’s operational capacity, nor will we accept the statements made yesterday. If there is anything, let them provide evidence,” Rasamny added, stressing that “the security issue is important and a top priority.”

“We must work on determining the legal status of the port and its board of directors, revisiting, amending, and activating the relevant laws. The temporary committee will brief me on all matters requiring action, and we will develop them,” the Minister explained.
