NNA - President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Friday departed Beirut for a brief working visit to Paris, accompanied by Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji. Lebanon’s chargé d’affaires in Paris, Ziad Taan, will join the delegation in the French capital.  

During the visit, President Aoun will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace for consultations on key bilateral issues and ways France can assist Lebanon in restoring its security, economic, and financial stability.  

President Macron will host a lunch in honor of President Aoun, followed by a high-level quadrilateral meeting bringing together the presidents of France, Lebanon, and Cyprus, along with the Prime Minister of Greece. The Syrian President is expected to join via video link.

Talks will focus on fast-moving regional developments, particularly in the realm of security.  

This marks President Aoun’s first official visit to a Western country since assuming office.
