NNA - MP Ghassan Skaff on Thursday met with Minister of Defense, Michel Menassa, and stressed the urgency of appointing a new Central Bank governor, describing it as "equally important, if not more, than the recent security and constitutional appointments."  

In a statement from his office following the meeting, Skaff said: “We are awaiting the appointment of a new Central Bank governor today, either through consensus or a Cabinet vote. Let the Council of Ministers decide, and let the Constitution be the arbiter. It’s time to show the world that we are a democratic nation, transitioning from a state of promises to a state of implementation, and from a failed system to one governed by law.”
