NNA - Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, on Friday met in his office with President of the General Labor Confederation, Dr. Bechara Asmar, accompanied by Tele Liban Employees Union President Mirna Chidiac.
Following the meeting, Morcos detailed the efforts he has undertaken over the past three weeks to secure the rights of Tele Liban employees. He emphasized his continued pursuit—through documented written requests, visits, and communications with both the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Finance—to fulfill their demands.
Morcos highlighted his focus on securing the “NSSF compensation gap,” which covers hospitalization costs under private insurance, noting that he has been following up on this matter since taking office. He urged the relevant authorities to expedite the resolution, either through the approval of the proposed budget amendment in Parliament—which he succeeded in passing through Cabinet—or via a treasury advance from the Ministry of Finance’s reserves.
However, Morcos warned against the consequences of failing to address the issue and underscored the importance of ongoing follow-up and collaborative efforts to support his initiative, reaffirming that the matter remains one of his top priorities.
Minister Morcos also received MP Nicolas Sehnaoui for a discussion on general public affairs.
