NNA - Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, on Thursday announced that the Cabinet will hold an extraordinary session on Monday to discuss the mechanism for administrative appointments.  

He also confirmed the appointment of new heads for Lebanon’s security agencies:  

- Commander of the Army: Brigadier General Rodolphe Haikal  

- Director General of the Internal Security Forces: Brigadier General Raed Abdullah  

- Director General of General Security: Brigadier General Hassan Chekir  

- Director General of State Security: Brigadier General Edgar Lawandos  

Morcos emphasized that the appointments were based on experience and competence, with the Cabinet ensuring strict adherence to merit-based criteria.  

The Information Minister added that President Joseph Aoun highlighted the IMF’s insistence on appointing a Central Bank Governor and passing amendments to the banking secrecy law and the bank restructuring law.
