NNA - President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Tuesday departed Riyadh at 7:00 am Beirut time (8:00 am Saudi time) en route to Cairo, accompanied by Foreign Minister Youssef Raji, to participate in the Arab Extraordinary Summit on the Palestinian cause.
Before leaving Saudi airspace, President Aoun sent a telegram to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, expressing gratitude for the warm reception and emphasizing the deep-rooted ties between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
In his message, Aoun underscored that their discussions had "laid the solid foundations for a new phase of relations" between the two nations, agreeing to enhance and develop cooperation across all sectors.
Aoun also conveyed the Lebanese people’s deep appreciation for King Salman’s steadfast support and expressed hope for a follow-up meeting with the Crown Prince to build on their discussions. A joint statement on the talks is expected later today.

"Your Royal Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
As I depart the skies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I wish to extend my sincere gratitude for the warm reception extended to me and my accompanying delegation during our visit to Riyadh—an expression of the deep-rooted and historic bonds between Lebanon and the Kingdom.
Our discussions have laid the solid foundations for a new phase of relations between our two brotherly nations, which we have agreed to strengthen and advance in all areas.
While renewing my thanks, I also ask that you convey to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the profound appreciation of the Lebanese people for his unwavering support of Lebanon and its people. I look forward to a forthcoming meeting with Your Highness to continue our discussions on the matters we addressed."
