NNA - “We, in the Salvation and Reform Government, have resolved to work with a comprehensive and constructive national spirit to rebuild what the war has destroyed, harnessing all potential, good will, honesty, reform and transparency to secure requirements, heal the bleeding wounds that have afflicted more than one region and to carry out the required reforms,” pledged Finance Minister Yassin Jaber on Saturday.
His words came during his patronage of the launching ceremony of the “Ramadan Shopping Festival” in the city of Nabatieh, which was held at the Kamel Youssef Jaber Cultural Center in Nabatieh, in the presence of prominent figures and dignitaries from the region.
The Finance Minister affirmed that preserving and liberating the rights of depositors is the main concern and commitment of the government, as well as the stability of the political situation, represented by the regular functioning of the constitutional institutions after a vacuum of more than two years.
Jaber underlined that “recovery requires a safe and stable political and security climate that protects and fortifies the economy, stimulates local investment, and attracts foreign investment, so that together they constitute a safe start to financial and monetary stability that pushes society towards real recovery and prosperity.”
He also considered that “with the participation of the private sector and the momentum of civil society, we will be able to save our country and place it back on the world map,” underlining the importance of partnership between the public and private sectors.
Jaber expressed his honor and pride to be among his people in Nabatieh, paying tribute to its steadfast sons and fallen martyrs, naming it “the city of giving, steadfastness, innovation, culture and dedication to public service.”
