NNA - Minister of Public Health, Rakan Nassereldine, and his accompanying delegation visited today the Bint Jbeil Hospital, the second stop in his tour of a number of southern hospitals on Saturday.

As he inspected the various sections of the hospital which is gradually resuming operations, the Health Minister praised the steadfastness of the medical teams since the first day of the war until today, assuring that "Bint Jbeil is resistant to aggression."

He said: "I came to visit this region today not only as a minister but also as a doctor to stand by your side and confirm that I am close to all of you. I have seen the huge repercussions of the Israeli aggression...It is clear that the deliberate harm to medical teams in hospitals is aimed at systematically striking the sector and its infrastructure. This leads to feelings of sorrow and sadness, but as much as there is a feeling of distress and grief, there will be a feeling of hope and reconstruction.”

Nassereldine stressed “the government's commitment to reconstruction and restoration,” considering that “it is not just a commitment to buildings, since infrastructure goes beyond that, beginning with people and medical staff.

“The people cannot remain without treatment. We are committed to our promise, and God willing, we will cooperate with the donors to achieve what is required,” he pledged.

The Health Minister affirmed the new government's ongoing commitment to reconstruction and restoration, adding, “We have reviewed the demands and needs of this hospital, and there are positive things. I was very pleased to inaugurate the departments and to meet the kidney dialysis patients after their return. We hope that the remaining departments will resume operations and there will be more cooperation.”
