NNA - President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Tuesday stressed that "Lebanon's advancement is a collective responsibility,” stressing Lebanon’s determination “to rebuild bridges of confidence with the Arab world and with the Lebanese abroad as well as with all countries of the world."
President Aoun reiterated that "our work program is not a political one, but rather a program for building the state, reform and fighting corruption,” adding that “the judiciary and security will be at the heart of our interests and work so that we can move Lebanon to a new stage."
President Aoun’s words came during his reception this afternoon at Baabda Palace of the CEO of the Kuwait Financial Centre and Chairman of the Lebanese Business Council in Kuwait, Dr. Ali Hussein Khalil, along with a delegation, who congratulated the President on his election as head of state.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Khalil presented the work of the Business Council, which was established in 2020, with the aim of encouraging economic, commercial and cultural exchange between Lebanon and Kuwait.
President Aoun later received at Baabda palace Lebanon’s Ambassador to Germany and Acting Head of the Lebanese Mission to UNESCO, Ambassador Mustafa Adib, with discussions touching on the Lebanese-German relations and the conditions of the Lebanese community there.
Ambassador Adib also briefed the President on the decisions issued by the UNESCO organization, "particularly during the recent Israeli war on Lebanon, with regard to protecting heritage, archaeological and cultural sites in Lebanon.”
