NNA – Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, on Tuesday received Sheikh Sami Abi Al-Muna, the Sheikh Aql of the Druze community, at Dar al-Fatwa, heading a delegation from the sect.
Following the meeting, Sheikh Abi Al-Muna emphasized the deep relationship between the two religious leaderships.
"We were pleased to visit His Eminence today to reaffirm the depth of our bond. We wished him health and well-being and expressed our commitment to standing together in navigating this new phase of national life. Lebanon needs all of us to unite around this national framework, to contribute to state-building, restore institutions, and rebuild trust—both among Lebanese citizens and in Lebanon’s standing abroad," Abi Al-Muna said.
Moreover, the Druze Sheikh stressed the need for continued cooperation with national leaders, including the President, the Prime Minister, ministers, and various political figures.
"I spoke with His Eminence about the importance of a spiritual and national partnership—an inclusive umbrella that protects everyone. We are all partners in this country; no group should feel excluded or defeated, and no group should claim absolute victory,” the Druze Sheikh added.
