NNA - President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, affirmed his determination “to implement what was stated in the inauguration speech, which reflected the people's suffering, aspirations and demands to lead a dignified life," underlining "the importance and necessity of preserving faith in Lebanon and not losing hope, because faith is essential to the success of any cause."
President Aoun's words came during his reception this afternoon at Baabda Palace of a delegation from the Lebanese Maronite Order, led by its General President, Abbot Hadi Mahfouz, who congratulated him on his election as president of the republic.
The delegation also conveyed to President Aoun the support of the monastic order and all its institutions, placing all its capabilities at his disposal to ensure the success of the current tenure and achieve the goals set by the President of the Republic.
President Aoun later received at Baabda Palace Environment Minister, Tamara Al-Zein, who briefed him on the ministry’s affairs and her action plan in the next phase after the government gains confidence.
President Aoun later received at Baabda palace, Lebanon’s Chargé d’Affaires in Greece, Marwan Francis, with whom he discussed the Lebanese-Greek relations and ways to develop them.
Francis also briefed President Aoun on the conditions of the Lebanese community in Greece.
