NNA - President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, sent today a cable of congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, marking the Saudi "Foundation Day".

"As your sister country celebrates the Saudi Founding Day, which confirms the deep roots of the Kingdom of Goodness and the legacy of its ancient people, I am pleased to extend to Your Majesty my warmest congratulations and best wishes for Saudi Arabia to continue its progress on the paths of prosperity, development, and peace," the cable read.

Aoun affirmed his determination to "continue developing our fraternal relations in various fields that serve the interests of our two countries, and to strengthen the ties between our two peoples, who are bound by the bonds of mutual love and appreciation."

In a similar congratulatory cable to the Saudi Crown Prince, Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Aoun said, "I am pleased to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on the Saudi Founding Day, which bears witness to the Kingdom's solid past in unity, solidarity and closing ranks among the people of the same land...On this honorable occasion, I can only emphasize my pride in the fraternal ties that unite our two peoples, and the historical relations between our two countries, which were reflected by Saudi Arabia's standing by Lebanon in various circumstances and stages, and supporting it in facing challenges. I will always ensure that relations between our two countries remain at their best, in a way that serves the supreme interests of our peoples."
