NNA – National Defense Minister, Michel Menassa, on Monday met at his Yarzeh office, Acting Army Commander Major General Hassan Odeh, at the head of a delegation from the command, congratulating him on assuming his duties at the helm of the Ministry of National Defense.

During the meeting, discussions touched on the security situation in the country and the role of the army in not being lenient with any attempt to destabilize the country and its civil peace.

The Minister of Defense also met with Army Intelligence Chief, Brigadier General Tony Kahwaji, who congratulated him on assuming his duties in the ministry.

During the meeting, the security situation and developments in the south were discussed in light of the continued Israeli violations and attacks.

Minister Menassa stressed "Lebanon's firm position on the necessity of the withdrawal of Israeli forces from its lands in the south, within the deadline set by the 18th of this month."
