NNA - Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met this morning with Interior Minister Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Hajjar before the latter headed to the Ministry of Interior to chair the Central Security Council meeting.

PM Salam gave his directives not to be lenient in any way regarding the issue of maintaining security throughout Lebanese territory, especially with regard to ensuring the smooth running of public facilities, including the security and safety of travelers from Rafic Hariri International Airport, and preventing any attacks on public and private property, especially attempts to close roads.

The Prime Minister recommended that the attackers be arrested and immediately referred to the competent judiciary.

In this context, Salam will chair a meeting at noon with the relevant ministers this afternoon to discuss the latest developments.
