NNA - A handover ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, marking the transition from outgoing Minister Ali Hamieh to incoming Minister Fayez Rasamny. 

The event was attended by ministry director generals and senior staff.  

Minister Hamieh passed the baton to his successor Minister Rasamny, wishing him success in his new ministerial duties.

Minister Rasamny, in turn, thanked the outgoing Minister for his efforts during his ministerial tenure, and indicated that “his vision for the ministry shall be based on enhancing transparency and integrity, ensuring the right of every citizen to obtain state services, and modernizing administration and work systems.”

Rasmany also pointed out that, "among my top priorities in the next phase are reforming the public transport sector, developing the transport infrastructure, rebuilding the Port of Beirut, repairing and modernizing the ports, and finding appropriate legal frameworks for them, improving the aviation sector and airports, activating the Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority Law, rehabilitating and expanding the road network and government buildings, and activating administrative decentralization in implementing projects, in addition to adopting digital transformation and smart governance and applying the standards of sustainability, resilience, and disaster management."
