NNA  – The new UNIFIL Sector West Commander, General Nicola Mandolesi, met today with the mayor of Tyre and President of the local Municipalities in an atmosphere of great cordiality and cooperation. The meeting provided an important opportunity to strengthen the ties between UNIFIL and the local community.

After a fruitful exchange of views on the main challenges and opportunities for the region, the mayor accompanied the Commander on a tour of the city. During the visit, the Commander had the opportunity to meet citizens and observe the local reality firsthand.

This meeting highlights UNIFIL’s commitment to maintaining an open and constructive dialogue with local authorities and the population, with the aim of contributing to the reconstruction, stability, and security of the area.
