NNA – Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firas Abiad, on Wednesday expressed his strong support for enhancing Lebanon’s healthcare system during the announcement of a new cooperation agreement between Hôtel-Dieu de France Hospital and Jezzine Government Hospital.

"This is a significant moment, not only for Lebanon but for the healthcare sector, and especially for the Ministry of Health," Abiad stated, emphasizing the government's focus on improving primary healthcare services while ensuring robust secondary care as well.

Moreover, Abiad highlighted the role of public-private partnerships, such as this collaboration with Hôtel-Dieu, in expanding access to advanced medical services. He also shared plans to develop specialized centers near public hospitals, funded by the World Bank, to ensure their sustainability.

"We cannot achieve this alone," Abiad concluded, "and working with the private sector is essential. We are proud of our collaboration with Hôtel-Dieu and the legacy of Saint Joseph University."
