NNA - Druze Sheikh Aql, Sami Abi al-Mona, praised "the people of the south, especially the people of the occupied front villages, for their eagerness to return to their towns and homes, despite the threats of the Israeli enemy and its direct fire on them, as this return represents the meanings of clinging to the land and national identity."
In a statement issued Sunday afternoon, Sheikh Aql praised "the steadfastness and bravery of the people of the south," offering his condolences to the families of the martyrs from the military and the people of the south, and praying for the speedy recovery of the wounded.
Abi al-Mona renewed "his full confidence in the role of the Lebanese army in extending its full control over every inch of the state's lands and protecting Lebanon's sovereignty, and ensuring the victorious and safe return of the people of the south to their towns and homes, after the brutal aggression forced them to flee from them by force."
He called on "the international community, especially the countries that sponsored the ceasefire agreement, to assume their full responsibilities in this regard, and to oblige the Israeli enemy to withdraw completely from Lebanese territory and stop the aggression, in implementation of the aforementioned agreement, and in commitment to implementing Resolution 1701 and its provisions."
