NNA - President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, commented on the events taking place in South Lebanon, saying: "I share with our people in the south the joy of the victory of truth and I call on them to exercise self-control and trust in the [Lebanese] armed forces that are keen on protecting sovereignty and security and ensuring their safe return to their homes and towns."

Addressing the people of the South, the President said: "Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity are not negotiable, and I am following up on this issue at the highest levels to guarantee your rights and dignity."

He added reassuringly, "The Lebanese Army is always with you, wherever you are, and will remain committed to protecting you and preserving your security. Together we will remain stronger, united under the banner of Lebanon.”
