NNA - Caretaker Minister of Economy and Trade Amin Salam will visit the US capital, Washington, to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the 47th US President-elect, Donald Trump, on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the official invitation of President Trump's administration.

The new US administration extended this personal invitation to Minister Salam, in appreciation of his historical relations with President Trump and the capital, Washington, and his achievements in strengthening Arab-American relations while residing in the United States for more than 20 years, which he spent between New York City, where he began his professional career as an international law attorney in major law firms, and the decision-making capital, Washington, where he held several senior positions.

During this visit, Minister Salam will re-extend his previous invitation to President Trump to visit Lebanon, specifically the village of Qana in southern Lebanon, where the first miracles of Jesus Christ occurred, and the capital Beirut, the mother of laws, from which he will set off to Kfar Aaqa, the mother village of his next grandson.

Minister Salam's trip to the US will also include a meeting with President Trump's senior advisor for Middle East affairs, Massad Boulos, in addition to following up on the results of his previous meetings with American officials related to the Middle East and Lebanon dossier, as well as some officials at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
