NNA - President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun received a phone call from the leader of the new administration in Syria, Ahmad Al-Sharaa, congratulating him on his election as President of the Republic.

Al-Sharaa wished the President success in his new responsibilities, stressing the importance of the brotherly relations that unite the Syrian and Lebanese peoples. 

In turn, President Aoun thanked Mr. Al-Sharaa for his congratulations, stressing the importance of cooperation to address all pending issues between the two countries.
