NNA – Grand Mufti Sheikh of the Lebanese Republic, Abdul Latif Derian, on Friday congratulated General Joseph Aoun on his election as President, wishing him success in preserving Lebanon's security and stability.

Derian expressed confidence in Aoun’s ability to unite the nation and address Lebanon’s challenges. 

For his part, Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Bukhari, who visited the Grand Mufti on Friday, praised the presidential election, noting it as a significant step towards Lebanon’s recovery and stability. The Saudi diplomat also lauded Aoun’s inaugural speech. 

In turn, Mufti Derian thanked Saudi Arabia, Arab nations, and Lebanese leaders for their efforts in ensuring the election, emphasizing the importance of national unity and constitutional adherence for Lebanon’s future.
