NNA - House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Thursday  received, at the second presidency headquarters in Ain el-Tineh, Chief of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) in Lebanon Major General, Patrick Gauchat, accompanied by Chief of UNTSO’s Liaison Office Beirut, Lieutenant Colonel Dieter Bachmann, and  UNTSO’s analyst Tony Bolger. 

 The meeting took place in the presence of Speaker Berri’s Advisor Ali Hamdan.

Discussion reportedly centered on developments in Lebanon and the region, in addition to the tasks and efforts of the UN mission.

Speaker Berri also met in Ain el-Tineh with Chairman of the Middle East Airlines (MEA), Mohammad Hout.

Discussions reportedly touched on the situation of the Middle East Company and the circumstances under which the national company has operated to ensure the continuity of connectivity between Lebanon and the world throughout the period of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon.

Berri congratulated the company's leadership and all its staff for their dedication and tireless efforts during the past challenging period.
