NNA – Head of the Media Department at the “Hussainiya” Holy Shrine, Abbas Al-Khafaji, on Wednesday visited the Lebanese Ministry of Information, where he met with the Ministry’s Director General, Dr. Hassan Falha, in the presence of the Director of Lebanese Studies and Publications, Khodor Majid, Director of Radio Lebanon, Mohammed Gharib, and Radio Programs’ Director Rita Njeim.

Discussions during the meeting reportedly touched on media cooperation prospects between the Lebanese MoI and the “Hussainiya” Media Department.

Al-Khafaji gave a briefing on the role of the department and highlighted the projects carried out by the holy shrine, including the establishment of a number of specialized hospitals, major universities and a group of schools, in addition to a set of huge industrial and agricultural projects that go beyond the Karbala governorate to be distributed over most of the Iraqi lands.

They agreed on media cooperation between the Ministry’s directorates and the media department, as well as cooperation projects in the field of archiving, documentation and digital audio-visual, written and electronic production.

Afterwards, Al-Khafaji accompanied by Majed, visited the Director of the National News Agency (NNA), Ziad Harfouche, where they broached general media relations and the means of media cooperation in the field of modern technologies and news.

Afterwards, Al-Khafaji visited the Ministry’s Directorate of Lebanese Studies and Publications, and had a closer look at its work and received from its Head, Khodor Majed, a set of the Directorate’s publications.

They also agreed on mutual cooperation, especially in the areas of archiving, documentation and media production.

Al-Khafaji accompanied by Majed then visited NBN TV Channel, and met with NBN Board Chairman Qassem Sweid, over the means of mutual media cooperation.
