NNA – House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Monday received at the Second Presidency in Ain El-Tineh, Head of Hamas Movement Politburo, Ismail Haniyeh, and a delegation from the Movement command, in presence of “Amal Movement” politburo head, Jamil Hayek.

Discussions reportedly touched on the current situation in Lebanon and the region, especially in the occupied Palestine, as well as the Lebanese-Palestinian relations.

On emerging, Haniyeh said that the delegation congratulated Speaker Berri on the completion of the Lebanese parliamentary elections and felicitated him on his re-election as House Speaker for a new term.

Haniyeh also voiced the Movement’s full solidarity with the brotherly Lebanon in the face of the Israeli attacks in the oil and gas issue, affirming Lebanon's full right to its natural resources and hailing the Lebanese state’s unified position on the border demarcation issue..

Haniyeh also indicated that they discussed the latest developments in the occupied Palestine in addition to the conditions of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

Haniyeh concluded by saying that Lebanon’s strength and stability is a source of strength for Palestine.
