NNA - Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, on Thursday welcomed Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon, Abdul-Aal Al-Qanaei who paid him a farewell visit upon winding up his diplomatic mission in Lebanon. 

During the meeting, Mawlawi thanked Ambassador Al-Qanaei for the "Kuwaiti initiative, which has been conveyed to Lebanon through the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, and which bore fruitful results via the return of the Arab Gulf to Lebanon.” 

For his part, Ambassador Al-Qanaei said that he had thanked Minister Mawlawi “for all the efforts that our brothers in Lebanon are exerting to ward off the harms and evils associated with drug smuggling, which has unfortunately become a major problem.”

Minister Mawlawi separately met with Sultanate of Oman's Ambassador to Lebanon, Badr bin Muhammad Al-Mandhari, who also paid him a farewell visit.
