NNA – House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Friday received at the Second Presidency in Ain El-Tineh, State Shura Council Head, Judge Fadi Elias, and Council bureau members.

Speaker Berri also met United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, with whom he discussed the current general situation.

This afternoon, Speaker received the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, who congratulated him on his re-election for a new term in the speakership office, and on the completion of Lebanon’s parliamentary elections.

Ambassador Rudakov also handed him two congratulatory messages from the Chairman of the Russian State Duma, Viktorovich Volodin, and Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko, on his election as House Speaker for a new term.

The visit had been a chance to discuss the current general situation and the bilateral relations between the two countries.

On the other hand, Speaker Berri received a congratulatory cable on his re-election from Egyptian Parliament Speaker, Dr. Hanafy Ali Gebaly, in which he wished Speaker Berri and the Parliament all success, hoping to strengthen cooperation frameworks and communication between the Lebanese and Egyptian parliaments for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.

Berri also received two similar congratulatory cables from the First Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives, Counselor Ahmed Saad El-Din, and from the Council’s Secretary-General.
