NNA - House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Thursday received at the Second Presidency in Ain El-Tineh, Algerian Ambassador to Lebanon, Abdel Karim Rkaibi, who conveyed to him the Algerian leadership’s congratulations on the completion of the Lebanese parliamentary elections and his re-election for a new term in the speakership office.
Ambassador Rkaibi also handed him a written invitation from Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to attend the 60th anniversary of his country’s National Day and Algeria’s Independence.
Speaker Berri also received former Minister Ghazi Al-Aridi, with whom he discussed the current general situation and the latest political developments.
Aridi left Ain El-Tineh without making any statement
On the other hand, Berri received a cable from his Kuwaiti counterpart Marzouq al-Ghanim, who congratulated him on his reelection for new term in the speakership office.
In his cable, al-Ghanim highlighted Kuwait's keenness on strengthening the fraternal ties between the two countries and people.
Moreover, Berri contacted by phone Internal Security Forces (ISF) Chief, Major General Imad Othman, congratulating him on the 161st anniversary of the Internal Security Forces, hailing their "efforts and sacrifices in maintaining security and stability."
