NNA - Caretaker Youth and Sports Minister Faysal Karami met on Tuesday with the Greek Orthodox priest who owns the historic library in Tripoli, Father Ibrahim Srouj.
Karami said after the meeting that "torching this historic library does not express the ethics of the Tripolitains who have been a model for coexistence and forgiveness."
As for his part, Srouj hailed Karami's stance and support.
"We shall get back all the burnt books and rebuild what was destroyed," Father Srouj said and lauded Tripoli people's solidarity and condemnation to the incident.
