NNA - Prime Minister Najib Mikati welcomed Tuesday at the Grand Serail the UNICEF representative in Lebanon, Anna-Maria Laurini, and discussed with her the organization's work and the ongoing cooperation with the Lebanese government.
After the meeting, Laurini thanked Mikati, on behalf of the UNICEF, on his efforts that supported the initiative launched by UNICEF, in collaboration with the Lebanese government , donors and other partners, to provide education to hundreds of thousands of children who dropped schools or otherwise.
"This cooperation, which we launched, made Lebanon a model for the region as a whole," Laurini said.
She pointed out that "this initiative will provide educational opportunities for about half a million of disadvantaged children.
