NNA - The National Basketball team returned to Beirut from the Philippines on Sunday after Lebanese Basketball Federation (LBF) was suspended by FIBA, and held a press conference at Rafik Hariri International Airport
The coach of the national team, Ghassan Sarkis, called for the resignation of LBF, including its President Robert Abdallah, warning that the popular game is facing great risks due to the Federation's continuous faltering to work properly and professionally.
Sarkis proposed the formation of a transitional committee and the election of a new federation that can come up with radical solutions to save Lebanese basketball, particularly after the national team was so close to victory.
The director of the national team, John Mamo, regretted the return of the Lebanese team in this way, without being able to participate in the Asian championship.
