NNA - Caretaker Sports and Youth Minister, Faysal Karami, on Wednesday inaugurated a sports hall in Tripoli's Al-Mina, after it was officially opened months ago.
The new state-of-the-art sports hall is equipped with cutting edge equipments and is capable of hosting basketball, volley ball, and other sports tournaments.
This new hall, which was built over a one-year stint, is expected to end a chronic sports deprivation that the Northern Lebanese city of Tripoli has suffered for almost forty years.
"Tripoli is a vibrant city," said Karami, who saw in this event an essential means to help the citizens forget about the city's ailing political and economic situation.
"This event is a very positive factor that shall encourage us to work even harder. The state should view the Ministry of Sports and Youth as a substantial and essential ministry, and should work on all the projects that help rise with the state at different levels," Karami said, deeming perseverance and determination as the best routes towards aspired goals.
