NNA - The US Embassy in Beirut welcomed the formation of the new Lebanese government headed by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and urged that it implement necessary reforms that contribute to "rebuilding institutions" and "combating corruption".

In a statement on the "X" platform, the Embassy said: "We welcome Prime Minister@nawafasalam’s announcement of a proposed cabinet. The Lebanese people deserve a government that will rebuild Lebanese state institutions, fight corruption, and implement needed reforms. We urge drafting of a ministerial statement that helps Lebanon turn the corner and chart a path toward achieving these objectives."
