NNA - Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi, said after his meeting with President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, at Baabda palace: “We congratulated President Aoun on the appointments, and expressed our prayers and support for him. We also invited him to attend the Easter Mass in Bkerke, and discussed public affairs.”

Patriarch Rahi also pointed out that "the Israeli attacks constitute a violation of the ceasefire, and Lebanon is determined to follow the diplomatic path,” stressing that “weapons should be exclusively in the hands of the state."

President Aoun met this afternoon at Baabda palace with Patriarch Rahi, with whom he discussed the general situation in the country and the upcoming electoral entitlements.
