NNA - President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Thursday received a delegation from the Maronite Sisters of the Holy Family, headed by Mother Superior Marie Antoinette Saadeh, at Baabda Palace. The delegation briefed the president on the congregation’s work across Lebanon, highlighting the challenges it faces amid the country’s worsening conditions, which have forced the closure of six of its schools.
President Aoun commended the congregation’s longstanding contributions in education and healthcare, describing their mission as "a spiritual and national service to Lebanon."
Aoun further emphasized the importance of maintaining schools in remote areas, especially in the South, noting their vital role in helping residents remain rooted in their land.
Aoun also praised the high-quality care provided by the Lebanese Hospital Geitaoui, affiliated with the congregation, calling it a model of resilience and professionalism despite recent crises.
Aoun finally underscored the need to preserve institutions like these as pillars of Lebanon’s social fabric and recovery.
