NNA – Speaking in the wake of today’s Cabinet session at the Grand Serail, Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam announced that an agreement had been reached on the administrative appointment’s mechanism.

"We seek to have a fair and effective state administration that protects citizens and is based on competence, instead of serving sects or politicians," Premier Salam said in the wake of today's cabinet session, held under his chaimanship.

Salam emphasized that "the government's slogan is 'building a state of law and institutions,' and there is no state without administration." Therefore, he said, "we seek to ensure that state administration is neutral."

The PM Salam added: "We seek to select the most qualified candidates through an appointment’s mechanism that includes nine principles based on priority and competition by providing fair opportunities to candidates. It is based on inclusiveness, the principle of equal opportunity and the absence of conflicts of interest, and on flexibility and participation by diverse academic expertise.”
