NNA - President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, stressed that "what is happening on the country’s eastern and northeastern borders is unacceptable and cannot continue,” adding that he has given instructions to the Lebanese Army to respond to the sources of fire.

President Aoun also contacted Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji, who is currently in Brussels, and asked him to reach out to the Syrian delegation participating in the "Ninth Conference in Support of Syria's Future" to "work to address the existing problem as quickly as possible, ensuring the sovereignty of both countries and preventing further deterioration of the situation."

President Aoun's stances came during his reception this afternoon at Baabda Palace of a delegation from the Syriac League, led by its head Habib Afram, who briefed the President on the current conditions and challenges facing the League.

The delegation expressed utter support for President Aoun and his aspired goals and objectives.
