NNA - French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Friday that he had spoken by phone with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, congratulating him "on the work he is doing with the government to promote Lebanon's unity, security, and stability."
According to the French presidential statement, the two leaders "discussed the prospects for reconstruction and the reforms it requires," a task that Macron considers "essential for Lebanon and the entire region."
The French president also announced that he would receive Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Paris on March 28.
Macron concluded his call by emphasizing that "France's commitment to Lebanon remains absolute, for its recovery and sovereignty.”
